If you have tightened it until the screw comes to a stop, then I would guess that it has just worked loose over time. You will know if you have solved it, once you have ridden it a few times.

 

It is made of separate parts just held together with the bolt. So not broken, just needs tightening 👍

 

The whole rear plate hanger and indicator section is made up of a ridiculous number of separate plastic parts that all screw or bolt together. Easily two or three times the parts than seems necessary. 🫤

Bolts rattling loose not uncommon on a lot of bikes. Bikes are vibey things.
If bolts into plastic just nip it up tight.
If bolts into metal use a dab of blue loctite.

 

It seems to be coming loose again or I am just paranoid. Hahaha.

 

I had the same issue on mine. There is a captive nut moulded into the indicator which the fixing bolt screws into. The captive nut on mine parted company with the indicator and from your photo it looks like yours has done the same. That silver nut you can see in the photo should be flush with the end of the indicator. You need a replacement indicator. I’ve just changed mine. An easy job and the part was around €50.
