So far I only have about 200 miles on my B800 and am loving it. I've been riding mostly on the "S" mapping because I feel it's easier to modulate the throttle off the line. There's a noticeable lag in "N" mode and I'm not used to that. There are things I like and dislike from each map and hopefully using the "C" map I could find the happy medium.
I was hoping we would be able to get some collective information from everyone's experience on what each setting does. Perhaps someone has already begun making changes and is more familiar with what each change/setting does.
GAS SENSITIVITY: Normal, Rain, or Sport
- Is this similar to "Engine Response"?
- Or does it have more to do with how much the throttle actually opens relative to how much throttle input you're giving it? For instance, 1/4 twist of the throttle: Rain = 10% opening, Normal = 25% opening, Sport = 50% opening?
MAX ENGINE TORQUE: Rain or Sport
- I assume this setting changes the power curve of the engine.
ENGINE BRAKE: Normal or Sport
- Does Normal or Sport setting have more engine braking?
ENGINE RESPONSE: Slow Response or Fast Response
- Is this similar to "Gas Sensitivity"?
- Or does it have more to do with how how quickly the engine responds to your throttle input. I like sport mode to take off because it's more direct. But at the same time, bumps and dips in the road give unwanted throttle movement because it's too sensitive.
RPM LIMITER: Normal or Sport
- Is this just raising/lowering the max rpms?
- If so, what is the rev limit for each setting?
