Bitubo Fork Cartridge Install F3

So I was reading through the installation instructions and it seemed quite complicated. Are they really that hard to do? Unfortunately my knowledge of suspension is limited so the fact that the directions and photos aren't all that great doesn't help. Dealerships around here have never messed with Bitubo so "they don't know how much it'll cost" until they try doing it. Any tips or tricks with these? Or fork install in general. Thanks!

Have the dealership show your parts and installation instructions to their technician, and have the technician bid the job.

Bitubo themselves may also be able to provide you an appropriate labor figure.

Either way, once you have settled on the exact number of labor hours, simply multiply that amount by the dealership's hourly flat rate, and add for miscellaneous shop supplies.

Don't you have a suspension shop in your area? Dealerships tend to be kind of "cookie-cutter" operations, and you're asking them to think outside the box. Suspension shops are used to thinking outside the box. Marzocchi forks are Marzocchi forks, no matter what kind of bike they come on- surely it wouldn't be the first time your local suspension shop had worked on them.

Not hard to do,but take it to a suspension shop.It will be easier for you.

you have to undo the bolt under your existing shock,to take out the old cartridge, now you might be lucky and the bolt might come out easy, but if it just spins around then your in deep shit.because what is happening is the bolt and cartridge are spinning together,i ended up drilling the head of the bolt so it would come out. There are special tools available to hold it from spinning.once out the rest is easy .air gap and oil.pretty simple stuff.Mine where Andreani Cartridge.I Think Donsy has some exsperience with these shocks?.Save yourself the hassle and take them to a guy who knows what he is doing.

cheers eddy

I guess I'll be taking it up to a shop today to see what kind of labor they're talking about. I'm pretty much out in the middle of nowhere and the only shop around does dirt bikes but said he's willing to take a look. I usually like doing stuff myself and try to learn but this obviously isn't cheap stuff we're talking about here

a shop that does dirt bikes is probably exactly where you want to go for suspension work like this vs a dealership with no racing program.

Your looking at roughly 1 hour per fork and 10 minutes to take the front wheel off to make it much easier. Setup and dialing in will take around 30 minutes

Thanks Al and stir. I took it to this place called Solid Performance. The owner Evan said it should be pretty easy especially with the tools supplied. Apparently I was looking at the complete Dis assembly directions which isn't applicable in my case like forks that have comp/rebound in the same tube. He said he's seen Bitubo on lots of bikes especially in Europe but he never got to touch them. I'll be reporting back on how these puppies feel!
