The practicality of swapping engines and frames over between different model bikes has come up quite a bit in the past and will probably become more common as the 750's get higher and higher miles on them.
I"ve just done a frame swap on my crashed 2007 F41000R and used a 2000 model 750 frame. The following pics show how easy it is.
There is no welding, drilling, cutting, modifying or swearing required. It is literally a straight swap.

The original black frame is quite damaged around the headstock area. It's now ready to unbolt and lift away from the engine.

Hinge the frame up using the rear mounts and do a quick and easy valve check.

The later model frame has an extra mounting for the EBS solenoid. I reattached it with a zip-tie.
From the second pic to last took half an hour including the valve check and a cup of tea.
