Yet Another First Ride Story

Well, I am following suit with all the other accounts and telling the story of my first ride.

First off, beautiful bike, but that is a given, its an MV.

I thought I knew what to expect, people would stare, dogs would bark, and old lady's would frown. As I was warned, the next now hurts, and the wrist are killing me.

What I didn't expect was the roar of laughter coming out of my mouth from the sheer joy of cranking on that throttle for the first time. Wow...

I was worried that the stock exhaust would sound too muted, but as the RPM,s built so did that beautiful sound and my smile.

I will enclose some pictues in the next couple of days. But thank you for letting me joing this exclusive group, what an experience today was!

Hey brady280,

Congrats again, here is something I posted earlier for another new owner, hopefully you will find it useful:

FYI, I thought you might be interested... these 2 links has been posted here before:

As for breaking in new engines, I totally agree with the methods of mototuneusa above and this one also: http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/NewBike.html#BreakIn

As a dyno owner, I have seen the results of how engines perform with different types of break in methods.

The guys who baby their engines have lower power output and use some oil. The guys who get on the engine from day one have very strong engines.

Just yesterday I broke in (on the dyno) a brand new BMW K1200R for a guy who will be racing this bike . I used Mototunes method and he is very happy so far with the results.

Controversial subject for sure, but I see this stuff everyday.

John

I re-live my first ride everytime I get on the bike - Just an amazing machine. And, yes, I still go out into the garage every night as I'm locking up to look at it, touch its curves...
Could be grounds for another secret passage!!

Okay, I am having photo difficulty. I added some to the registery, hopefully that is the key.

I am open to suggestions on photo uploads.

BMW, what BMW??? Yep I have it, current score is MV 300 KM, BMW 25 KM.

MV is kicking ass, but the BMW is a very nice bike, but not for the same purpose as the MV.

a German hauskeeper and an Italian supermodel...

I hope the German hauskeeper and the Italian supermodel get along together in the garage when I am out. I would hate to have to have to fire the Hauskeeper.

So far both are behaving nicely, but the German Hauskeeper is feeling neglected. Who can blame me, wouldn't you pay more attention to a Italian Supermodel?!?!?

Just sent an email back to the dealer regarding the timeline on the 910R, at this point I have gave up my spot on the bike.

Its still available if I want it, but the only way I would do it is to get rid of the BMW, and the Brutale won't make a good 1,500 mile trip bike. I wish it would though!

However if I had the R and the F4, I would have to move my bed to the garage, and it still pretty cold up here at night in Canada.

I know its not as good as deal as I got, but my dealer has another 05 F4-1000 red/silver that he will sell for $20,600. Still a good deal from what I have seen on the net.
