i think i heard this problem befor from two people. the 1090 wont shift. i only have 2-3 or 1-2, could this be the shifting spring, and if so what does it intale to fix it? it looks like alot of things have to come off, any special tools need? or should i just bring it to the shop. it needs a service anyway. or maybe trans trouble, i kind of dont think so tho. ADVICE :smoking: :bawling: :bash:

Hi I had this problem with my 09 1078 Brute and it was the detente spring on the selector I returned the bike as it was still under warranty and they rectified it by installing a new spring but it is not a simple job,as your bike is a 1090 it should be covered by warranty. The team at Gold Coast Triumph we excellent in their response Cheers Padier

Sorry for the delay in answering I have been away, my bike had 15000 km mine at first wouldn't return to the centre position then the end piece jammed in the selector so be careful if you are riding it Cheers P

It seems this is not limited to the Brutales. My 2010 F4 - with 17500km on the clock - developed the same problem. It has now been two weeks at the dealer waiting for the spare part. There appears to be something wrong with the springs used by MV.
