Guys and girls.

I haven't been on this forum as I've been riding my BMW R Nine T lately.

I need to get your honest opinions on when and if I should let go of the Tambo!!

I have a serious buyer wanting to look and we've verbally agreed on the price without evening looking at her yet, HOWEVER

1) I still love riding her BUT I've only put 300km this year and about the same last year.
2) no financial pressure for a fire sale etc, in fact non at all.
3) still love looking at her once the cover comes off.
4) personally not 100% wanting to let go, as I have ALOT of priceless memories riding with the MV boys.
5) I still get a kick out of riding her and other people admiring her and talking about it.
6) Its been in the family for 10 years this year.

Do you think the LE MVs bikes will appreciate in value? As I've notice the Desmo are asking for $100k AUD

Bike is stock except for the 750 screen, CC Ti slipons, and SATO racing rearsets. 9500km on the clock.
Got all the stock parts and all the certificates.
007/300 Tambo.

Any feedback would be great!

Just my opinion and totally worthless.... :blah:

But if I was you I wouldn't be selling her. If you have the space, and you don't have to sell her for financial reasons, you should keep her.
Give her a bit of exercise a year and admire her when you take off her cover.

You won't be able to replace her.

Oh main reason I was looking at off loading her is the high presence of the boys in blue where we ride, so I can't really exercise her without looking down at the speedo every 5 seconds.

But that is true of every motorcycle!!!! And you don't have to ride this one to appreciate her !!

Wifey said exactly the same thing, once you sell it you will regret it because you can't get another one in my life time. She said to keep it and will sell the Tambo only when I pass away!

I love all my bikes, past and present. Moto-monogamy has never been my strong point...........

You can't put your arms around a memory......... So don't try.

i completely understand the pressure of the boys in blue. They see sportsbike and leathers they see a racer. Im on my vespa and they laugh, im on sportbikes they actually follow me. Its very rude and frustrating.

If this was a standard mv like i have, id say move it. If u don't need the money keep it.
I realise its another expense, rego, service etc, but again if u don't need to move it, keep it, cos they are a hard bike to find, not many around. U will miss it when its gone. If u are ever desperate to sell, it will sell anytime

Its like art. U have art on wall, u enjoy looking at it when u walk by. A tambo is one hell of a work of art.

Please keep it

Don't but a cover on her. Leave her uncovered so you can see her more often. That will make you want to keep her. If I were you I would keep her. Like my Mona Lisa, I will never sell her.

Just keep it, your wife said so and as we all know they are the boss in the house. Mate my wife bought me my mv and she alone will sell it. You have something very special and it will never be made again therefore all the more to keep her.

Keep it. This is typically one of those bikes that you will later think of and say that you should have kept it. Just a single time in your life it is just what you need to do. Sell your car, take a new wife, buy a dog and keep this Tambo! The 300 km per year are worth it.

After all things considered we've decided to keep the tambo but at the end I couldn't do it.

Thanks all, maybe in another 10 years I'll reconsider selling it.
No you don't :D

You've given us 6 reasons to keep the bike, but not a single reason for why you would sell it?

If its not for financial reasons then why would you sell it? The only reason I sell things is because I need the money to buy other things which I wouldn't be able to do otherwise.

I'm with you. Emma will never be sold. She's in my will to go to a museum, much to the disappointment of my son.

Now that winter's over lets look at organising another group ride to make it all worthwhile...

I've got 6 weeks to go before my rego runs out. Seriously looking at de-registering her parking it into games room.
