Hi all.
I've just traded in my Dragster on a new one, and seeing as I'd spent a small fortune on suspension upgrades, thought I'd swap the forks and shock across.

All went well but during the process I noticed that the orientation of the front ABS sensor is different between models, and appears "wrong" to me on the new models - on the new models (I checked a few other MVs in the shop) there is clearly a place for the ABS sensor, but the current models seem to have the sensor placed at 90 degrees to that. I couldn't find a decent picture in the manual, so have a look at the pictures and see if you can spot what I'm talking about.

Curiously the rear ABS sensor (see pic) on both bikes is placed at the same orientation as the MY16 bike front sensors... Upshot is that it seems to work fine in either orientation, but I find it strange that all new bikes appear not to be using space clearly cast and machined for the sensor.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Nick M

So you just swapped the entire front forks from your current to the new?

I'm fairly certain that the ABS sensor is a simple pulse pick-up unit magnetically activated by the slots in the front rotor. Orientation shouldn't play a role.

I just read "orientation" and your name Chuck and wondered what's going on down Tinkertown :naughty:
