What a tragedy. A regular bouncer to tragically kill an up and coming cricketer. Lets not forgot sean abbott the poor guy who now has to deal with the killer ball that was nothing out of the ordinary just a freak one in a billion chance of a hit to the head like that. RIP Phil Hughes

Everything has some risk to it. This seems inordinately tragic, though.

This has really shook up the cricketing fraternity, not just in Australia.
Cricket is not considered a particularly dangerous sport with all of the protective gear worn by batsmen in the modern era. So sad for all involved.

Rest in Peace.

It's a terrible thing to see and to have to experience that will be even worse.
I hope some of those bowlers who go for the head on purpose will think twice about it next time it's their turn to bowl.

Phil was hit on the neck, bursting his caroted artery, leading to massive bleeding to the brain.

I feel massive sorrow for everybody involved.

It's not a good week for Australia - http://www.news.com.au/national/top...-after-being-hit/story-e6frfkvr-1226348625283 - RIP Lizzie
