Ortega Highway (CA74) has long been a sportbiker's dream. Many miles of twisting canyons, and beautiful vistas. With it's reputation for eating squids, the canyon walls and cliffs, as well as the cheese-grater barriers, serve as ominous reminders that this road can get dangerous. Oh, lets not forget the almost constant stream of traffic and PO's that add to the element of difficulty.

Take a virtual spin through some of the top sections, as the sun is rising over Lake Elsinore. I have ABSOLUTELY no idea where this video came from, but it looks like a JVC DV camera mounted to a fairing stay using a twenty20 camera mount. It sounds like the guy was running Sato Lows on a 2005 RC51, and clearly the bike is enabled by a PCIIIusb. The music is from the world's greatest garage band, Mahalo Boogie.

Enjoy,

Virtual Ortega

Just like a spin down the Champs Elise, eh Randy???

Do they have a Hooter's in Paris, too?

. . . um, well, you could say that.

Hey, I dig the background music - Mahalo Boogie. Can't find 'em on iTunes, though. Found some samples of their stuff on the Internet, but not much. From what I've skimmed, they've got roots in San Diego (my old stomping grounds). Do they have a CD?

BTW, jetlag sucks. Been back here almost a week and I'm still wide-awake at 3:00am.

Randy...Mahalo Boogie doesn't really exist, they have ONE demo CD that was recorded a LONG time ago, in a single day. My friend Mike is the bassist (normally he plays lead), the lead singer was the manager of an Enterprise Rent-A-Car at the time (Yes, in San Diego), as was I (West LA), as was said friend (Hollywood). In a former life, I used to hack chords on my guitar while Mike strung vitoustic solos over me. These are the guys he used to actually play with. BTW, the CD is incredible...PM me your email, and I'll send you their songs (I think that will work, no?)

Glad to hear you like it!

ah great video
love the sound of the band
and the MELLOW BURBLE of that RC-51

thanks for the link
It is actually a very loud set up, but with the foam I...Uh, "He" put over the camera's microphone, it does sooth it out quite a bit...I love my inline fours, but as you well know, there is something about the "twins"!
