2 out of 12 valves out of spec.

Spec: intake, .15mm-.24mm
exhaust, .20mm-.29mm

cyl 1= EX, a=.24mm b=.24mm IN, a=.19mm b=.24mm
cyl 2= EX, a=.19mm b=.24mm IN, a=.24mm b=.19mm
cyl 3= EX, a=.29mm b= .29mm IN, a=.24mm b=.25mm

So two out of spec, I will change ten shims to match all the valve durations to each other. To my knowledge exhaust valves tighten over time and intake valves loosen. So with this tidbit I will go to the tight side on the intake valves and the loose side on the exhaust valves.
Exhaust valve shims(spacing - .29mm, exp= .19 - .29 =.1mm, .1mm less of a shim to open the gap between valve and shim.)
Cyl 1= EX, - a= .05mm less shim, will equal .29mm b= .05mm less shim, will equal .29mm
Cyl 2= EX, - a= .1mm less shim, will equal .29mm b= .05mm less shim,will equal .29mm
Cyl 3= EX, - a= no change b= no change

Intake valve shims(spacing - .15mm, exp= .19 -.15=.04, .05 added to lessen the gap between the valve and shim.)
Cyl 1 = IN, - a= .05 more shim, will equal .14mm b= .1 more shim .14mm
Cyl 2 = IN, - a= .1 more shim, will equal .14mm b= .05 more shim will equal .14mm.
Cyl 3 = IN, - a= .1 more shim, will equal .14mm b= .1 more shim, will equal .15mm.
I will lightly remove .01mm of material to achieve .15mm on the intake valves to achieve all at .15mm

I am being anal but I want the valves to all be in the same spec as each other. Am I wrong in any of my observations?

All valves in shim bucket set-ups get tighter over time. The only way they can get loose is from deposits on the valve seats.
Valve stems stretch and valve faces "tulip" at the seat contact point...both close up clearance.
Set them all as close to the middle as you can, or slightly loose. Never slightly tight.....

unless you are building a race engine where the valves will be inspected on a constant basis. Then you go for tight to get maximum lift.

Cool I have always dealt with tapette style or Ducati type valves.

so as a revision exhaust valves cyl-1 a=.05mm more b=.05mm cyl-2 a=.1 more b= .05 more cyl-3 a&b no change
intake valves cyl-1 a=.05more b=no chg cyl-2 a=no chg b= .05more cyl-3 a=no chg b=.01 less
