Last two minutes is looking at Ryan Farquhar at the 'Cookstown 100 road races' a couple of years ago. The 'Cookstown' is the first road race of the Irish roadracing season. (it was on Saturday past 26th April)

2.29 is the start of the 'Tandragee 100' (it's on this Saturday 4th May) I'll be there! http://www.tandragee100.co.uk/ (practices on Friday)

A lot of the rest is the 'Ulster Grand Prix' ., 'NW 200'., 'Southern 100' etc from a few years ago.. Martin Finnegan.., Richard Britton etc are racing and tragically they both are 'no longer with us'.

Gladiators these guys! and I'm privileged to live here and witness this racing first hand almost every weekend!. Michael Dunlop is incredible!!

Good post.

Brian,

I need to find torrent files for these races, I find them 10 times more exhilarating than motogp races. It's usually pretty easy to find the Isle of Mann, but some of the races that you named, I haven't heard of.

It must be awesome to have sanctioned road races, we have amazing roads here in the foothills of the South Eastern US, but if they closed off the streets for motorcycle roadracing the Bible Belt would lose it's mind.

Ian I know..when you see racing like this 'up close' just a couple of feet from 'the action' and on the 'roads' it makes the hairs on your neck stand!

As I said these road races happen here where I live in in Northern Ireland almost every weekend (Tandragee 100 is this Saturday) http://www.tandragee100.co.uk/ Then in less than two weeks it is the first of the Big international road races the 'North west 200' http://www.northwest200.org/ .....the 'Isle of man TT' (May 25...June 2)
Then the 'UGP' (Ulster Grand Prix in August) which is the worlds fasted motorcycle race! and takes place less than 5 miles from my house! http://www.ulstergrandprix.net/

The smaller 'National' road races as I said are almost every weekend on 'closed public roads' http://realroadracing.com/calendar.php.

When you get to witness this (as I'm privileged to do).. believe me....'everything else' seems tame by comparison!

We're making the most of it before some 'health and safety' committee steps in and Bans it!!

Here a are a few links
Tandragee 100 (this Saturday)...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnLvd66mlc0

Cookstown 100 (last Saturday)...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jRM63cfPak

NW200 ( in Less than 2 weeks)..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6fdBz7zLrg

Ulster GP (August) 5 miles from my house., and in my opinion the greatest
road race in the world!!.............http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzWf-6UzQUA

loads more but you get the Idea!!!!??

Yeah Brian, we should enjoy it while we can!

I fear for its future: I believe the insurance bill for the Cookstown was over £16k!

If Stormont doesn't pass legislation allowing clubs to charge an admission fee soon, most of the Nationals will disappear.

Great video, by the way, Ian.

Cheers Ian..that would be great!..
The NW200 will be 'Live streamed on line' during the races..practices etc as it is every year!. It will also be broadcast on the BBC locally.
I'll post the 'live streaming link' closer the time so you can watch the races and see the action as it happens.

Thanks for posting that. Easily my favorite form of 'motorsports'. Those guys are in a completely different league. I wish that the races were more easily viewable over here in the States. There's nothing like them.

Nice Brian, post some pics if you get the chance! Be safe!
Cheers Ian.....Just home from a fabulous days road racing at the 'Tandragee 100'!!

An unexpected treat was that 6 time world champion motorcycle road racer Jim Redman MBE was there for a parade lap!.

As usual 'Michael Dunlop' was unstoppable!!! This guy is the most exciting road racer I've witnessed since the late Martin Finnegan. Incredible and he blew the field away!

He'll be a sight to behold at the NW200 in a couple of weeks against some stronger competition.

Anyway all I had was my 'little' camera and I took a couple of shots..along one or two of the 'rural' surroundings and roads these guys 'RACE' on!

You can also see 'some' of the neighbor's front gardens have been converted into 'bike parking lots!

Oh.. Michael Dunlop is number 3 and he's the one.., way out in front!!!

Pretty close to the action in these races as you can see??......Enjoy!!

Yep! as was said in the 'Simpsons'....''if there was a law..it'd be against it''!!......Heheee!

Brian:)

Cracking pics BG. Thanks for those!

Love this stuff. Guy is the man. Lucky enough to have his signature on a page straight out of PB. Going to miss Ryan this year though.
