Hi guys.

The question keeps coming up, and Noel just recently suggested it to me again after some other changes where made to the forum lay-out.

Do we separate/split the F4 section into two sections?
The two generations of F4's are so far apart that new members often make mistakes in identifying faults etc.

Do we have a F4 99-09 section and then a F4 Y10+section?

We will have to ask Admin about this for the go-ahead, but it would be good to hear from all of you.
If they give the "yes" and that is what you guys feel we should do, then I'll sit and separate the post's to their respective sections.

What do we call the two section?
Please give us your idea's.

If this works then we can look into separating the B4 Brutale's also.

Thanks for your time guys.

Not looking good at the moment, 6 guys responded, hardly worth wasting time over.

Donsy,

I think this a good idea mate. The fault finding can be a major one. I know people will disagree as it is one "model" but it will make it easier for all.

Why not it would be more transparent like that.
F4 first generation (98 - 09)
F4 second generation (10+)
Which You could change than in a few Years to
F4 second generation (10 - 15)
F4 third generation (15+)
Just hypothetically.

split?

the 2 generations have so little in common.....the wheels will interchange and so will some axle parts and brakes, not much else

and the issues they have are totally different too

It's difficult enough keeping tabs on all you F4 weenies as it is.......leave it alone......:ahhh:

On second thought......you could have two designations: "Recently limp" and "Been limp a long time"

:)

Do it! By the way, it's not a limp, it's a swagger :yo:

in general a good idea but might open a can of worms. e.g. what about customizing/maintenance/performance sections? theoretically you would have to do the same there. could be confusing and look half done / thought out in the end.
you might also end up with duplicate questions.
or where would have Scott put his "bid farwell to MV" thread not to be missed by riders of the other gen?

why not leave it as one section and just add some sort of indicator to the thread (in the thread list)? i already see smileys and thumbs up there. just change that. easy to spot.
