I am trying to convert the front signals on my 2009 F4 to LED and am running into a problem. I cannot get the LED to burn when connected to the electrical panel. The standard bulb blinks as it should but nothing from the LED. I measured the voltage at the connections on the electrical panel and it reads 8.5 volts. The resistance on the standard bulb is 1.5 ohms and the resistance on the LED is around 3 Mega ohms so I am not getting enough current for the LED to light up. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the voltage up to 12 at the electrical panel and what part of the turn signal circuit creates the voltage drop to 8.5?

Your original signals run at 12vdc unless the electrical plates are dirty and providing high resistance.

Yes. IT sounds like those draw too much load

I forgot the LED is polarity sensitive but still the resistance is much higher than the standard bulb

Why not buy PIAA bayonet LED lights and just do that.
