I was cleaning and checking the TVL 800 today and noticed the brake pedal was very low. After some feeling around, it seems there's no pivot bolt. I haven't used the rear brake more than three times, so it's not surprising I haven't noticed anything amiss as it were; and the dealer doesn't open until 11:00AM Tuesday - day after tomorrow, so I just zip-tied the brake pedal to prevent it falling off.

The bike has to go in for a clutch recall, so hopefully the dealer will have the appropriate bolt and can Loctite the threads so it doesn't happen again.

Thanks Gero; sorry Streetrider, when I talked to the dealer, I forgot to ask for details about the recall.

Sorry for the delay too; changed my password (I thought) because of the hack, but the new password didn't store/save. All better now.

They are currently out of stock, the dealer recommended them, and I couldn't find any others with a broad enough beam pattern to be useful. Most ads say "fog/spot" but when details are given (not always) the beam width is 10-30 degrees, not the 70 degrees of the PIAA lights.

Once they're installed and I've had a chance to try them on my commute, I'll report whether or not they're worth it.:blah:

I had the low-beam on with the high-beam mod done and I have to agree, it is quite a bit better, but not enough. I'm afraid it's the same story with the fog lights...better but not the night/day difference I was hoping for.

Also, only PIAA sells the fog lights, none of the usual distributors sells these particular PIAA fog lights, only the driving lights.

At $349 for the pair, were they worth it? Well, worth it enough I'm not going to remove them. As FOG lights they're probably terrific, but we don't get much fog in Arizona. Also I'm not done adjusting them yet but they're pretty close (I think).

Oh, the rear brake is fixed, which is to say depressing the brake pedal activates the brake light, but it's mostly useful to prevent rolling back when starting out uphill.
