I did similar on the Turismo a couple of years ago. It was comfortable in all conditions. The Stradale is lacking a little in wind protection. It's the motorway stretches and tank range that I am wondering about. Just want to know how other people have gone on.
You might have one already but a Puig touring screen might help with the wind protection. Fitted one to my TV and, for me at least, it's a big improvement over the original in terms of noise and protection.
With a 16 litre fuel tank you shouldn't have any issues. My touring buddy rides a 996 and, before he fitted a Power Commander, was looking for fuel around the 110 mile mark, we didn't have an problem with him running out on tour. Did get a bit close on a couple of occasions though. Now he's fitted the PC and had it sorted on a dyno he can make 140-150 miles.
Maybe you run with others who have greater range? If so then they should take you into account rather than risk you getting stranded.
Agreed, I actually prefer the Stradale to the Turismo. I think it is down to a lack of bulk. I looked at a TV the other day and thought why did I sell it, why don't I buy another. I might. But for the moment and for me the Stradale is the better bike.
