Ladies and gents,

How much clearance/space do you guys have between your rear tire and the belly pan? Mines is less than an inch and it looks so sketchy. The bike has aftermarket carbon fairings and what looks like a stock belly pan. Thanks for the feed back!

These bikes have pretty tight tolerances on the bodywork. You'll be fine.

The distance between the swing-arm, hugger and belly pan is determined by the chain length and sprocket size, which is in turn is influencing the hub rotation.
So depending on where you're hub rotation is at, will determine the position of the wheel in relation to your bellypan.

the clearance distance is determined by the slot in the brake backing plate......and tire diameter:naughty::naughty::naughty:

In any case, unless you are setting land-speed records on OEM tires, there is plenty of room between your tire and the belly pan. Nothing really changes that dimension once set.

When my bike was Mot tested last week for the first time, and the rear suspension linkage checked for play, the tyre was hitting the left rear edge of the belly pan, which the tester said was normal when extended like it was, I thought something was wrong, but all ok on the ground and no rubbing ever so, close is normal it seems.
