Yeah day went well, but very slow while all the injuries have healed (mostly) the recovery period has done no favours for my overall physical condition
We are planning island on the 14th & 15th February but given how unorganised my mate's are that may get pushed back

Well I called it we are now booked in for 28th and 1st.
Will have to find out garage number and come say gday
Mate, I only just saw this message. We were in garage 42.
I think I walked past your pit because I saw some MVs, just didn't realise it was you.
I would definitely have stopped to chat.
I was on the Red R6 in Red group 28th, then green day 2 when the numbers dropped. Had a great trip.

We go every February, so maybe next year.

Following my mate on his Gixxer 750 on my 600. Had to run off track when I attempted to go around the outside and realised he didn't know I was there. To get the most out of the R6 I have to push the front. I can't bring myself to do it at Phillip Island yet because the consequences are so high. I'm not sure I will be able to, only going once per year. But maybe next year.

Looks like this will be it for a while. Disappointed they closed my local. I may have to go to dirt for my fix. I can't really drive to Sydney everytime I want a track day.

SMSP looks terrible at the moment. You can't see it in the video but there was a fair bit of water seeping up through the cracks in the surface especially on the exit of 5.

Nice to finish on a PB though chasing the 1000 who passed at just the right time....He had some strange lines :)

I was there on the 25th didn't have a problem with turn 5 as much as the stream between 9 & 10 which I was confusing with the shadow from the light pole adjacent
Kinda reminded me of riding through Kosciusko national Park on the way to the GP with all the melt water springing up through the cracks in the road.
Anyway we've pencilled in 29 & 30th September at the island

That was when I was there. What group were you in? Let me know the next time you are going. Yeh 9/10 stream was the worst I kept feeling the back come around as I ran over it. I would back off earlier there turn in later but faster to try and get more of the turn done before I hit the wet patch. Being on slicks doesn't help.

With Wakefield closed for now went to the creek o the weekend. I usually avoid weekends because there are more accidents.... and there was on Sunday. Weather was pretty good with a huge headwind on the straight. Little mish mash of passing over a few sessions. Red/Race group was alot slower than I usually find it normally.

@Glenno well done! Funny how most of the other riders are all about the straights yet exhibit such hesitancy with radiuses. It’s understandable but like in life grace can go a long way.

I don't think they are over riding their capabilities just over purchasing. Its normal for people to look at external factors to get fast like a new more powerful widget rather than internally and do the hard graft.

I bought a new track bike

Time to put my big boy pants on.

Tire Wheel Fuel tank Vehicle Automotive lighting

2015 R1
Ex ASBK bike
Ohlins FGRR Cartridges in the front
Ohlins TTX in the rear
Suspension is even correct for my weight and I think maybe speed as the previous owner thought the front was alittle soft for him and he is faster than me and one KG heavier. I'm 70ish KGs now afetr losing 5 KGs over Nov-Feb :)

YEC race ECU and harness
Flashed with FTECU software and full software race package. Still running the tune from ASBK so I'm thinking I might wind that back to the normal R1 settings while I get used to it. My R6 dynoed 108 at the rear wheel. This will be closer to 190-200
Lots of the standard flash bits like brembo master, lightech adjusters, remote front lever adjustment etc
Spare fairings and some parts etc
The full titanium system was taken off by the team. I'm the 3rd owner. Previous owner was quick in his own right dropping 1.36s at the creek so its more than I will ever need.
Seems like all the money spent in the right places.

Might need a thumb brake but I will see how that goes.

Its first time out will be at the bend next month 😬😬😬
