I have a LITTLE bit of play in my steering head. I can feel it when I hit some bumps. Is all that is needed is the 6-prong yoke tool to tighten the yoke nut? Or is there more to it to tighten the play out?

How do you check/tighten that? The manual only goes over rehauling it, I just need to tighten it back down....special tools?

Bottom the nut out by hand. Tighten 10 degrees past that.

To check after you've tightened, other than disassembly to see for yourself, elevate the front end in the air by the frame and yank on the forks front/back repeatedly to see if there is play at the steering stem.

There's hardly any...it's only when there's bumps or hard braking. but now, it's good to know all I have to do is bottom it out by hand and tighten 10 degrees...

I assume this is like other sportbikes, and you'll wanna suspend the front end if possible, by tie downs to the rafters...or frame jack...
