Now that my 1078RR Brutale is out of warranty I`m wondering what I need to do throttle body balancing etc. I have vacuum gauges ,it`s the electrical/diagnostic side I`m wondering about. Do I need different software for my 2005 750S ? I`m no computer wizard so please be gentle with me.
Cheers Cus

Cus.....unless your bike starts running poorly and requires tuning and not just new spark plugs, etc. you should not need to worry about synching the throttle bodies.

But when you do, you will need the software and link cable to reset the TPS....

Totally agree Joe!

My bike is sitting at 14000 miles and I intend doing the major service shortly including valve clearance (for the 2nd time), replace my defective ebs relay, hub maintenance, brake caliper strip down and clean, oil, air and fuel filter, plugs and petrol tank filter if it has one??? But I have no intention of doing anything to the throttle bodies as the bike is otherwise running sweet as a nut :)

My other winter jobs include upgraded race water pump, fan override switch and carbon fairings and belly pan :D

Point taken, I`ll leave it alone , mum always said playing with it will send you blind, maybe she was talking about throttle bodies.

now some advise, like all the guys have said, number 1 ,do not touch the idle screw or the left and right hand butterfly screw that is located in the middle of the throttle bodys, you can safely adjust the air bleed valves only to sync them, use a carb tune or similiar.

number 2 .do not touch the tps screws, use vdst software to reset the tps and adjust fuel trim to your likeing, basically that is all this software can do,the rest i find is useless.

number 3 .listen to what the guys are saying, leave it alone ,unless you are confident and have the tools.

?

excuse me, but bullshit

yes, you need the VDSTS software and cable

ask the guys that where at Bubba 4 when i did Carl's SPR....

Carl
Ade
Donsy
Dave the_castle
et al

i switched the air horns to my set with the holes plugged
i had Donsy close the left screw for 1&2, visually you could see they were WAY farther open than 3&4....
i balanced everything to#2 with a Uni-Syn that i've been using since '59

i didn't reset TPS because i didn't bring my VDSTS cable and laptop

what did it take guys? a minute???? or less?

all my TB vacuum ports are epoxied closed and no vacuum lines either

Uni-Syn;

oh, i have an analog differential pressure gauge that is a miracle on 2 cylinders

but if you have a Ferrari with 6 twin choke Webers......start with a Uni-Syn, then shoot the pipes with an IR pyrometer, then use the analog differential pressure to look for solutions
