Hello everyone...
Here I go...Is there any way of increasing the loudness :drummer: of the original muflers such as taking an element from the silencers or something like that? If the answer is "yes"...how?
I put on my brutale the Arrows midpipe and muflers and they sound amazing...but the look of the originals is just perfect, so I want to have the Arrows sound with the original look :naughty:
Hope someone can help me...Thaks and MV'ssssssss :later:

I don't think it's a stupid question Pedro, but I'll leave it to the Brutale boys to answer. :)

Hmmm..... tricky question....

Why don't you just record the sound of the arrows to a tape and play it on a megaphone attached to the bike everytime you go for a ride? That way you could have the best of both worlds. :)

:toothless

  Sorry, but i don't know the answer to your question

I put the Arrows system on. It's only a little louder. She still sounds like an out board motor until you get to 1/2 throttle, then the sound is much improved.

Only a little bit louder...? Have you tried to hear it without your helmet on? ...no, seriusly now, do you have the DB killers install on the mufflers? Have you got the cat bypass as well?

I say so, cause they sound much louder on mine...don't know what you mean by "loud".

Anyway...I think I'm taking the original mufflers to an exhaust specialist here on the island an see if he can do a job on them...I'll keep you guys inform...

I think what he's trying to say is the sounds increase from stock ipes with mid-pipe to Arrows with mid-pipe is minimal. Honestly, my bike is fairly loud with stock mufflers and a midpipe. Everybody wants to know what exhaust it is(non MV owners), and when I tell them stock, they're like "damn, even Ducs aren't that loud stock..."

Mid-pipe makes hte bike sound like you put on a slip-on...so I can only imagine what a full exhaust does, but apparently, it's not that different.

I do however know, that my buddy on here with RG3's and mid-pipe on his 02 F4, has a deep rumble, but is nowhere NEAR loud as my bike. Both bikes sound DAMN SEXY though....

And the outboard motor....way to put a finger on what the bike sounds like! I couldn't quite figure it out, but I knew the sound was familiar!!!!

Check my album arrows & mid pipe. The pipes came with a sticker warning that they are for off road only...not restricted, free flowing

My point of reference for excellent deep & rich sound comes from racing Italian twins, nothing like a Duck on the pipe!

If your wanting a major improvement to the sound I dont think its out there.

Helmet on arrow's make very little difference, until over 1/2 throttle by then wind noise and the fact that the bike is moving and the sound is behind you could prove much increased but you cant truly here it.

Helmet off, no interest...fell off bikes too many times :wtf: always put my hat on. That being said if your not riding but spectating (again no interest) could be it sounds much improved wizzing past an over 100mph.

Point is on the bike and riding not much difference...possibly 20% increase.

Careful with cutting up the pipes, lots of engineering goes into air flow...sucking/forcing it in and pushing / pulling it out of an engine. You will surely want to spend some tuning time changing the AFR (air Fuel Ratio) in the injectors to compensate for the changes you make.

If you end up with a mess I'll sell you my stock slip ons!

Best wishes

Homer :smoking:

Homer,

Is there a reason you don't have the carbon heal plates installed on the Arrow pipes? Too much carbon? Just wanted to make sure you knew they came with them.

Also, I can't quite tell from the pics, but did you remove the cones from the exhaust pipes? There's a spot weld and then a C clip at the back of each pipe that holds the cones/baffles in. So, you can effectively change how loud they are by leaving it in or taking the cones out.

FWIW, I replaced just the midpipe and using the stock cans and it's plenty loud for me. I wouldn't want it any louder. I can hear it easily through my helmet with plugs and music. I'd rather not piss off the people that have houses in the curvy roads I ride...

If you have the exhaust as it looks on your pictures...you haven´t take the db killers out...they're clearly there. Anyway...I've change my mind about cutting the originals...been reading a post in brutaleforums.com and it's much more complicated than what I thought :conveyer: ...so I'll let it be...thank for your offer anyway.
Maybe I put the originals back with the mid pipes to see how it feels :drummer:

Jack,

Your the reason I converted to Gladio! Beautiful bike & pics, We aint that far from each other! I was thinking about crossing Lake Mich on the high speed boat from Ludington and heading over for a Road America weekend this summer, also thinking about doing a tour around lake mich. Would be cool to hook up on a trip.

Yup too much carbon, still thinking about what to do for heal plates.

Have not pulled out the baffel tube. Waiting on a power commandar decision, I've pushed too many motors to the limits and just not sure how far I go with this one :shocker: Agree with you on the lets not piss off the people who live on the twisties.

Hey Homer! NESBA is at Road America Monday and Tuesday. I'll be there riding a little and doing the photos. I know some of the groups are full. Also doing June 7th at Road America with STT. Corse Superbikes is sponsoring that event.

Come on over and I'll get some good photos of you for the action photo contest. :)
