G Day , I have just acquired a F4 1000 2005 model - accident damaged, mainly cosmetic but needs a new rear sub- frame for starters. Anyone know where i can get a new one - second hand or have it re-straightened. The exhaust was a right off - looking at motocorse not cheap but look great thinking of buying direct from Japan - are there other systems available? Thanks,
Malcolm
hey mate
you mentioned thinking of getting the exhaust from japan direectly, have you got some kind of contact there, is it hugely cheaper

pm me if you want
hey and welcome to the site
its an awesome place with super fantastic people here
I have a solo bike, and it's aluminum. I thought they all (solo bikes) were. Are the 1+1 bikes steel?
If the metal isn't broken or severely creased, there are motorcycle frame straighteners who should probably be able to do it. You might be able to do it yourself with creative use of winch straps if it's not too bad. I've seen racers put a bike between the rear bumper of 2 trucks and start using straps to straighten the tail section.
And I wouldn't do it to a 1+1 bike if you plan on having someone on the back, too much to lose...
For the pipe, stock ones do show up now and then for sale. But if you want an aftermarket one and can get a hook up, you can't do any better than that.
I have a spare rear subframe, solo. I am in Brisbane, I also have a heap of OEM body work, sides, tails, screens etc etc pm me what you are chasing specifically
Many thanks to everyone that replied, I forgot to mention it is a 1+1.Having shown the bike to a frame specialist in Brisbane ,the way it is set up - underseat exhaust etc - it would be difficult to do as there is no sub frame info available eg .hgt at the rear of the frame etc etc, and i would have to strip the bike .Could a few of us buy direct from Japan etc ? Worth looking in to? Agusta01 and yellow900 you have pm coming.
Dave Kellet in springwood/underwood has done the MV F4 in a jig, took us 3 times to get it right but he sorted it for me, has all the dimensions. He does all my ducati's and I can vouch for the quality of his work !
I can't say this is good info, but if you mount up a straight exhaust system without the tail section installed, and use your eyeball, you could probably get it pretty close to where it wouldn't be noticeable. If the mount holes were close where the exhaust mounts to the tail section, that's probably a good indication of where straight would be. That along with just a good hard look.
