Came across some of the worst ridin' I've seen for ages today that resulted in 2 riders going down. Three of my buddies and I were on our usual Sunday moring ride out the back of the Gold Coast when
we came up behind a group of about 8 other bikes. As we were going at our usual "spirited" pace we started to pick our way through the other group being careful not to spook anybody. This group consisted of a harley, a couple of naked's plus some bikes out of the ark. For some reason these idiots thought it was time for a race and were trying to get back past us on the straights then crossing on the wrong side of the road as they out did them selves in to the corners. Just as we were backing out of it as it was just getting stupidly dangerous two of their group rode past their limits
and crashed. One did a nice end over end (about 2 or 3 rotations), the other paniced and dropped his bike. Both ended up off the road and in to an embankment, one very shaken but okay the other had a broken leg and foot.

What is the point in riding past your limits just to try and prove how big yer danglies are? When are people gonna learn that we are out there to have fun, not to have some idiot try and kill you cos you
overtook them.

Although I'm pissed with them for their lack of skill and regard for other people I hope these two guys recover quickly but also put their brains in gear when back on the road.

Be careful out there everybody cos ya never know what others out there are gonna do.

Not fun to be a part of mate. There certainly are plenty of dudes out there with kahunas and egos way larger than their skill levels.

The old red mist strikes again. It happens far too often. The best approach when riding in groups is to remember your limits. I guess some people have to learn that lesson the hard way.

Honestly, that's why I rarely ride with people I don't know well. It is amazing what can and does happen in a large group.

In fact mostly I enjoy riding my myself and meeting new people at know bike stops.

Last week I had a guy on a BMW GS blow past me on a bend & we almost touched elbows, I was furious, but there's always a hero that will trip others up in an attempt to justify his greatness to himself.

I did think about about opening it up & sitting on his tail and pushing him to ride quicker & quicker until the inevitable but I thought that would just make me a bigger dickwad than him & that's not really a contest I am interesting in winning.

I try to keep away from rding in groups and if I catch up with a group I usually take a different turn or stop for a while. I had a similar experience last year, I caught and passed a group of about 6 riders, the kid on a 999 Duke seemd to take it personally and was right on my tail for the next few miles until he realised his mates were nowhere to be seen. Fortunately no one was hurt as far as I know but when other riders see you out on a MV they seem to think you are a spoilt rich kid with chicken strip tyres. :jerkoff: That's life I guess.

I had a similar moment a couple of years back, riding with a work colleague, him on his Fireblade. We went past a couple of sportsbikes on a country road, both of us were in our usual style 'making progress' in the countryside but rigid speed limits when in the villages. On the exit sides of the villages, one of the sportsbikes kept catching us, obviously steaming through the 30 limits. Come the fast bits, no-where to be seen. Then in one of the villages we went past a speed camera van...:wtf::brutale:

....racing with a harley??? :wtf:
i don't care about what happen with this kind of people that drive over their limits representing a danger to others on the street. A mistake of an idiot like these "bikers" can kill somebody else.
