Does anyone know the spring rate for the 50mm Marzoochi forks on the 910S? I took mine to its first track day yesterday and despite heavy braking I have 1.5 inches of travel left which is way too stiff for me. Want to order softer springs but need to know where I'm starting from.

Thanks!

Preload is fully backed out, we even took the fork caps off to make sure the static preload in the forks wasn't set incorrectly, and that gave us 27mm sag with full race gear.

Compression I believe is about 1.5 turns out from full hard, about middle of the range, I'd have to check to be sure. We fought rebound issues most of the day as the front would pogo on and off the brakes and be really unnerving in corners, exaggerated due to the stiff spring kicking back as soon as I got off the brakes. We finally got it working ok with almost full hard on the rebound to slow the movement and pretty soft compression to let the fork compress and help with turn-in. But a softer spring would let me use less rebound for better bump absorption without adding chassis pitch.

On my race bike I pretty much compress the fork fully during hard braking (see comparison photos of where the zip tie is on each bike)

We need to re-shim it as well to move the rebound range up a bit as I'd like to be in the middle of the range rather than tapped out at near full hard like now.

Try decreasing the amount of oil used, someone might have added too much oil. The springs on the forks are a progressive spring - been discussed in a few threads - there is a few guys here who have had Racetech etc springs added.
Good luck mate.
