Hello everyone,

I have a few questions for you guys, I have 2002 F4 and want to upgrade rear Sachs shock, I purchased used rear Sachs shock which is from 2008 MV Agusta Brutale 910; first question, will this rear shock fit on my bike, second prior to replace the rear shock (08 910 Sachs), I want to make sure spring rate is right for my weight. I weigh 225lb (full gear). If 08 910 Sachs rear shock is under weigh for my weight, I want to replace it with Ohlins spring, if you know of part number for ohlins spring could you let me know. I found one used at ebay; Ohlins TTX36 Shock spring 21040-36/105, can I use this spring on 08 910 Sach's?

Many thanks in advance!

Mike;
yes, it will fit
you want a 1091 Series spring 160mm long

depending on how stiff you want the rear you are looking at #s;
1091-34-10.0
1091-36-10.5
1091-39-11.0

if you need heavier, from my old chart, you need to go to the 1093 Series 150mm long then you will need a 10mm taller spring cap too, Ohlins has them

sorry, no part number, I have an old spring chart and the shock and fork manuals

I have a set;
8.0 Nm to 10.5Nm in 0.5 Nm steps

well they have to have some 160mm springs.....what series it is now, I have no idea

MVs, Aprilias and Ducatis use them, I think BMWs use the same too

I got mine from PartsUnlimited.....same place I got Ade's RS-250 pistons:naughty:

try one of the other manufacturers there are plenty, they're just 57mm ID springs

I had Marzocchi springs wound to my specs....got them in 10 days

:popcorn:

Yeah I'm sure it can't be that hard to find springs for the Sachs if you really wanted to, my problem was always finding someone to service the things or to re-valve them, I think for what you pay for a new Ohlins in the USA, it's probably better to just buy a new one.

Thank you so much for all your info. I am not sure where I read the article but 1091-39-11.0 (160mm Ohlins spring) would be the right fit and right weighed spring for my weight/SACHS. I just wanted to confirm with you guys. Again thank you so much!
