@Pete Maverick Mitchell: Yes, but you need the ECU Update also.

Thanks for the latest part number! and I watched that video before. I'm having minor starting issues with a fast cranking speed (no clacking).
Can I tell which sprag I have if I pull off the clutch cover? Clutch basket?
Can I see what software update is in the ECM now, myself?

Nope. The sprag and the clutch are not related.
You should look into getting the shop manual and having a read.

Sorry, I posted before I just did that, and came here to revise the question. You're really fast on that 'search noob' response! lol.

The location is in the manual, but wasn't the point of my question 'How would I know if my sprag is the updated one':

It looks like you could pull the starter and have a look for the increase bevel on the back of the gear on the updated sprag, but also totally not worth it. If you've gone that far (airbox, TB, starter) you might as well pull the housing and replace the sprag.

The manual doesn't address finding the current software version either. I have a couple bikes with that access through the dash, I'm assuming MV takes a dealer visit.

Yes, for software MV requires a dealer visit.
You should be able to ask your dealer, over the phone, if the Sprag and software update has been done as it is VIN specific.

Hey @Pete Maverick Mitchell, did you join the NZ MV Owners group on FB? I'm in Auckland but you might be best to reach out to TR20 in Tirau. (Yep, not close either).

You can do the change out work but you won't get hold of the software...only authorized agents.

PM me if you want more details.

Cheers
Tim

Lightning up an old tread. My bike is a 2020 Lusso, so I think/hope the sprag clutch is the latest version (8000C4242).
10000 km so far,no problems. Just bought a SHIDO lithium battery with CCA 300A.
But when was the latest software released for Euro4?
The service point checked my bike, and said it was the latest version
It was from 2017. Is that correct?
Has it been any problems with the latest version of the sprag clutch?
