Just replaced my original battery with a shorai (brutale 920):
LFX14A4-BS12

Fits perfect and is about 2 kilogram lighter , the shorai really feels like it weighs nothing.

my bike had been a display bike and had a plug fitted so it could be charged with the seat on, and i was getting the occasional weak start.

anyway, they are about 100$
much lighter
last longer
don't discharge if you leave the bike as quickly
they say you get better cold starts because the battery does not need that first kick over to warm up (marketing possibly)

Id say the price is about what a replacement would have cost of the standard battery if it ever went , and if you have a second bike you could probably chuck the old one into the other bike or sell it to offset the price

anyway recommend you pick one up if not now , the next time your bike needs a replacement

I'm curious how you feel about the battery after you run with it for a while. I get mixed reviews about the power output of that battery, although the weight difference is very impressive I must admit.

yep ill certainly report back if i have issues , just because of placebo effect ill probably think the bike fires up faster\stronger, so ill only bother to bump this if i have any issues. was a 2min swap though and came charged so far i'm happy

They work great: and they are in 3/4ths of my bikes. My oldest battery is 2+ year old. They dont need to charged frequently, so dont charge them with your regular charger. If you are going to put it on the shelf for a year, buy their special charger. I've parked mine in 40 degree weather all day at work and they fire just fine.

I recommend the 18 over the 14, because more is better. ;)

They don't seem to like the cold.
I find less than about 15C ambient and first start for the day they don't like it.
I put the std lead acid back for winter.

Not much point in buying one of these in the UK then, we rarely get above 15c most of the year.:laughing:

I have the LFX14 in my F4 since almost two years and there is really nothing to complain about.
Even after month of storage is the battery as strong as needed to start my F4.
I bought an LFX19 now for my, new to me, Brutale and will likely never go back to lead acid bricks.
Who never tries new technology will never learn.
And who never learns is an ignorant and seizes to develop as a human being.

as this got bummped , ill chime in , my one still no issues ,

i actually was playing with the bike lights on for about 3 hours and flattened the battery the other day, was able to jump start it using the old lead battery

just left the shoria hooked up, connected the lead to the terminals on the shorai , fired right up and after a 10min ride it had plenty of charge

, still no complaints here
