Hello, I have purchased a new 2014 Rivale and just recently I've been receiving an amber light on the display, with the error message malfunction stop engine / speed sensor error. The speedometer otherwise works correctly and the bike appears to be running ok. Perhaps this is related to the ABS speed spensor on the front brake, if the speedometer speed sensor is in the rear? After turning the engine off the error message does not go away.

Tomorrow I'm going to the first service so hopefully the problem can be diagnosed. I do have to travel quite a distance to get to the dealer, so I hope this isn't something more serious. The stop engine warning is somewhat alarming. Has anyone experienced this problem, or is there anything that I can do in the mean time to fix the problem?

Thanks for your help...I will post an update once I hear from the dealer.

It looks like the speed sensor near the front sprocket is loose. While jiggling the cable, I was able to start up the bike without issue. After adjusting the cable again the error came back. I think there may be a kink with the cable or the speed sensor is defective. The cables are directly next to the engine case so that migh have something to do with it. Anyways I'll get the dealer to look at it.
