Ride height adjust

previous owner stated that he had the MV shop drop the bike by 2 inches in the back. The adjuster (2 pinchbolts and dogbone) is adjusted all the way down. before i go and jack it back out to where I'm 2" higher, is there anything I need to reset? I like the way the bike handles, but when 2 up on the bike, it feels like it wants to backflip.

any help would be appreciated.

Wow, if you like the way it rides now, wait until the geometry is correct.

Did they also drop the front by Raising the girls or doing internal fork mods?

Where are you located? Some of us have the tool to loan out.

The maintenance manuals are available from Donsey on his website: http://www.teamdouble3racing.com/manuals.php

Find the section on ride height adjustment. Mine was low only about 10mm and I hated the steering feel, I can't imagine how bad 2" down would feel
My '07 F4-1000R was a serious under-steerer when I got it - riding through a car-park was an exercise session. Finally, one evening, I noticed that the main-beam was pointing way above horizontal. By adjusting the rear ride-height up to lower the main-beam onto the road, the steering heaviness went completely away, and the bike became very balanced.

Been out riding the 1000r and i miss the quick turn in of the 750. The R is very stable through the corner but i feel like i’m using effort to get it leaned over. Going to try the 7mm drop soon as i get the ride height tool. Wondering if i should try 750 clip ons on it too. 🤔
rather than drop the front, try raising the rear. A few mm can make a big change,

—-Just don’t overdo it. You’ll still want the back planted. Take a few runs to fine tune.
i bought the bike second hand so i’m not sure where the rear is. i’ll start with making sure everything is at stock height and go from there. the good thing is nothing has to be a permanent change! i will say that it does feel taller at lean, but again i’m very used to my 750 setup and 120/65 180/55 tires. i’ll report back when i get around to tuning.
Definitely check the front forks are showing the right amount of rings for front height.
Set the front and rear suspension back to original settings and work from their.
@style_one - If you don't have the Ride Height Tool it is difficult, if not impossible, to set rear ride height to factory setpoints.
I have a too that I lend out to MVAGUSTA.NET members for the cost of postage, insurance and guaranteed return.....

Thanks. I will let you know if that will be necessary. Looking to connect with a local forum member to hopefully get it knocked out.
I just reached out to fbf- hopefully he has one available… finally sold my trackbike and am transitioning the spr to the work bench for a few events this year. If anyone has one I could borrow I would greatly appreciate it.
seems xbikes doesnt have them anymore, but still hoping for a response. I could see about replicating one too if more folks are needing them, or am I the last to this party and everyone has a measuring tool?
@StevenSPR - read post #27....

@S10guru1184 - did you ever determine if your bike was indeed lowered 2"? I just picked up a 07 F4 and would love to lower it an inch or so (short rider)... I am curious if yours actually was with the stock adjustments or if you had any aftermarket modificaitons.

done
Well I finally got around to doing the ride height after getting a tool. Also did the forks seals/bushings (wasn’t a bad job at all after getting over the learning curve). Lowered the bike 7mm in the front and when I went to do the rear, I had to RAISE it to get it to the desired lowered height. I had a feeling the previous owner had dropped the rear from the sluggish turn in. Looking fwd to testing the bike with its new stance.
It should be a whole new ride....use caution.
from what i’ve read, it should be more like my ev02. 😁

i’ll report back my thoughts

So, I am back to give an update to the ride height adjustment. I love it. Turn in is quick and easy and stability is confidence inspiring. Admittedly, my rear height was too low before and I don’t have a stock height comparison to make. STILL, it feels just like the ev02 but more power.

Set a track day for end of june. Looking fwd to what that will feel like. Especially since I’ve only had the 750 up until this point.

If someone is curious like I was, don’t read a ton of threads, just do it. Worst case, you just return it to where it was prior.
