Ride height adjust

previous owner stated that he had the MV shop drop the bike by 2 inches in the back. The adjuster (2 pinchbolts and dogbone) is adjusted all the way down. before i go and jack it back out to where I'm 2" higher, is there anything I need to reset? I like the way the bike handles, but when 2 up on the bike, it feels like it wants to backflip.

any help would be appreciated.

2 inches is a massive alteration to the geometry of an F4.
There is a ride height adjustment tool referenced in the service manual to assist with geometry setup.
That is where I would direct you.

Wow, if you like the way it rides now, wait until the geometry is correct.

Did they also drop the front by Raising the girls or doing internal fork mods?

Where are you located? Some of us have the tool to loan out.

The maintenance manuals are available from Donsey on his website: http://www.teamdouble3racing.com/manuals.php

Find the section on ride height adjustment. Mine was low only about 10mm and I hated the steering feel, I can't imagine how bad 2" down would feel

TIP: Fast by Ferracci sells the ride height gauge for first gen.

Except that FBF closed its doors a couple years ago.

That is interesting news. When did you make your purchase?

I'll put up some pictures later, but the adjustment bolt is all the way down.

recently this year. Few months ago or so. FBF never closed online since closing down his dealership. I sent an email in advance for confirmation of compatibility. Fast like a Ferracci response! Keep in mind his older inventory dwindles hence the email before ordering.

It is Eraldo's son who has control of the remaining inventory. Nice guy, good deals if he has something you want.
I think he is actually a member (not active) here.

To @S10guru1184 ... I have the tool if you can't get one. Essential for proper chassis set-up.
Strongly suggest you read the section on chassis adjustments in the workshop manual.

Your chain appears to be way too tight !!!!
It's almost dragging the top of the swingarm
"Almost" is the problem...it should be adjusted looser. To the spec on the swing arm.
It should be sagging about 6mm below the lower triangular chain guard...from edge of the plastic piece tip to the center of a link rivet.
You need to read your manual !!!
As a result of running with a tight chain the hub might be compromised. Search ‘tight chain’…

I bought mine right after you bought yours. 👀
I'm not convinced you would be able to lower it 2 inches. First of all the Sidestand would end up being too long. Hard to tell but your bike seems to lean as much as any on the stand. A quick and dirty check would be to measure from the top of your rear axle to a fixed point above like the exhaust mounting bolt perhaps and compare that with the same measurement from someone else's bike. The only sure way to measure is with the tool.
