Just noticed when washing the bike that the remote preload bracket has snapped?? Dunno how it managed to snap but it has, I heard a unfamiliar rattle yesterday when I was out and found this was the cause this morning. Hopefully a one off and no one else suffers the same.

Oh dear Bruce, that's a pity. Just cleaned mine after yesterdays outing and it seems solid enough. Maybe it's the photo but yours does look a little thinned where it's broken. Couldn't get a direct view of mine as panniers still on, will have a look later, if I can, to see if my one is like that too.

A pretty reasonable €12.67 from Evolution Bike. Hopefully your dealer should be able to get you one. Not sure about warranty cover but worth a try. Fabricate your own replacement for the mean time?

Went and had a look with the panniers off, the bracket on mine is a flat cut sheet, quite thick. Looks plenty string enough. Suprised yours has broken unless it's been abused or has been hit by something.

Just checked mine and it looks ok. Only way I can see it breaking if someone hit the adjuster really hard. Maybe it was already cracked when you bought the bike. Just took a while to break off completely

I have no idea what happened, it does look like a sturdy enough bracket and it looks like a clean break, thankfully there is no obvious damage to the adjuster that I saw.
Been to busy today to look any further into it or try to make a replacement so as a temp fix I used a cable tie to fasten it to the rearset hanger, going for my 9k service on the 9th June so dealer has ordered one for me, hopefully be here in plenty time.
I hope it has just been a stress fracture or something, as Chas says it looks a pretty robust bracket.
Something to keep in mind when checking it over.

In my eyes has this bracket a very sharp bend by being out of quit a thick plate.
I assume that this brackets get hairline cracks on the outside during fabricating.
Likely a cold bend.
The hairline crack could be detected by PT and avoided by heating before the bending process.
Hairline cracks will lead over time, vibration and such to above failure and cracks.

I'm yet to receive any recall or advice Donsy. As owners, we shouldn't have to "look around." MV should be contacting us. Thanks for the link:)
I meant look around the forum as the topics come up before mate :) But you are right, it should be brought to your attention, maybe at the next service as it's really a service bulletin and not a recall ?
