I bet this has been asked loads of times before but........

I want to remove the rear wheel. Anything I need to know, 55mm socket and a breaker bar do the trick or more specialist tools? Torque wrench etc.....?

Any pointers greatfully accepted

get a long lever and someone to help or an impact gun if you remove it for the first time. Also you need to turn the wheel nut clockwise to remove it.

after fitting make sure you also check the sprocket side with the torque wrench 220+ nm (right threaded so clockwise to tighten)

A little Aluslip on just the thread, not the tapper, on reassembly. This will make it easier next time if there is a long time before you next take it off.

Can't stress how important it is to do that. I went through loads of rear tyres and that nut can be a pig to remove otherwise

Some of the more experienced on here also recommend 190NM rather than the spec 220NM torque. Has worked well for me.

Also a standard socket will not be tapered and may mark your wheel nut. A tapered one is less likely to. I also put a bit of masking tape over my wheel nut prior, to also limit marking the nut.

Speedymoto sell a good wheel nut for MVs. Not sure if forum sponsors have it.

use an air impact (tire shop if you don't have one) to remove with TAPERED socket
DON'T PUT THE BIKE IN GEAR....
Nevr Sieze/ Coppaslip etc on threads only
install with torque wrench
