Hi all my F4 is running Pirelli corsa on the rear in 190 50 17 size and I have managed to blag some Pirelli Diablo's in 120 70 17 for the front no problem .

The rear is a 180 60 17 Pirelli diablo I know it will ride a little higher but has anyone had experience of this on an F4 and was there any clearance issues .

cheers Rod

190/55-17 and 120/70-17 on F4

When I bought my 750SR the shop agreed to fit a set of new tyres from their stock, which was Bridgestone BT S20Evos -- in 190/55-17 and 120/70-17 -- I wore those tyres out in around 5000Km's I never had any clearance problems .. A lot of people told me that those S20'es were "too big" for the bike ...

I just fitted a set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa in 180/55-17 and 120/65-17 front .. That has made the bike feel a bit more agile and quicker steering .. According to my Owners Manual this was the factory fitted tyre sizes on my bike --

I don't see how a 180/60-17 could be a problem on an F4, its even lower profile than the the 180/55-17 I'm running ...

Um, no.

The 60 represents 60% of the tire width, in this case 60% of 180, or 108. If the original was 180/55, then that works out to .55 x 180 = 99.

The 108 and the 99 represent the tire height. Therefore, the 180/60 is a higher profile.

Now, if you are talking in comparison to your previously fitted 190/55, that tire height was 104.5, right in between.

oops -- my bad ..

Ahh .. yes .. My bad .. I need glasses :nerd2: I read 60 as 50 -- so thought "lower profile" whats the problem ...0:)

I still do not think there should be a clearance problem on the rear .. As I wrote, i ran a 190/55-ZR17 Bridgestone and never had a problem, not even when i fitted a Carbon hugger ..

Ok so tyres fitted and I can say no problems at all in fact the bike handles far better with the 180 60 17 fitted turns faster and grips spot on.

I don't think I will go back to the 190 50 17 .
