Whats missing here guys.... decided to take a break from 3M Ventureshielding my bike, what a pita of a job. Decided to delve into the box mine came with thinking I'll fit the seat cowel as it is very pretty, and has never been fitted.

Ran into issues straight off, theres nothing to mount the bolts into, so thinking nuts and washers, I then noticed the mount has the grab strap built in and riveted, not sure this strap is going to fit over the new Cowel, looks very tight, also the locking post will have to be added or swapped out wtf !..

Now thinking it might be a cheap aftermarket, though it looks extremely well made and colour is bang on...

Anyone done this ?

Just the locking post to get then, I'll bell the dealer in January..it's probably fallen out of the wee packet it came in..

I applied ventureshield to it, just waiting on the corners to dry up before finalising... it's remarkable kit that stuff.

Having installed one of these they never fit right

Here is what I did:

• Zip tie up underneath the cover the strap or cut off the strap, its not made to go over the top
• You will need to create some spacers to move the whole pivoting bracket down a few mm until you are happy with the position. This allows you to move the pivot back and forth to for the lock to catch properly.

Who knows why MV cannot make them to fit properly or just bolt straight on.....

I was thinking of cutting it off, probably will do that as I'm seldom if ever two up, it doesn't serve any real purpose anyway. Cheers for the info. I need the locking post first mind you to see where I'm at..
