I'm going to racing school! :brutale:

I originally wanted to have a dedicated track bike at this point, but unfortunately it didn't pan out. So the brutale is getting pressed into going to track school with me and subsequent track days for now. I didn't have the cash for a track bike, but I did cough up some money to upgrade.

Seeing as how my original pilot powers lasted for 6500 miles, and I liked the feel and grip of the michelins. I have just recently spooned on some michelin pilot power 3's (more track dedicated). I also bought EBC double sintered pads front and rear. I'm adding a Scotts steering Dampener. I'm adding a mid pipe (cat delete), and BMC air filter. In addition to prevent over heating I bought the upgraded MV pump, and muzzy fans and I'm switching to water wetter (I live in florida)

All told that should increase the acceleration, Turning, stopping, reliability etc.

I'm also getting new NGK iridiums, having the TPS reset, and syncing the throttle bodies. New brake fluid.

For anyone who track rides their bike is there anything I'm missing? Is there anything else I should be doing to my bike? Any major weakness in the brutale too look out for on the track?

Other then the snatchy throttle which I hope the tuning at least partially clears up I have never had an issue on the street with it. Long term I'd like to get an ECU upgrade. It was hard enough getting my fiancé to allow me to spend this much... my only saving grace is that some of these are "wear items" and the Dampener is "safety related" I showed her one head shake video and she agreed.

I'm trying to keep my budget as low as possible as I'm already into this about 2k with paying for riding schools, labor and all the parts. But I'm not against spending a little money to make the bike safer and more enjoyable on the track.

The steering "damper" is a good idea, didn't think the Brutale's have much of a overheating problem, definitely not on the track, but hey, better cooling is just a good thing.
Change oil if it's due.
I always recommend minimum engine casing protection at least, and some form of frame slider, not just on the track, but on the road too, few listen and many have been sorry.
Make sure your chain is till good.

Then just go and have fun.

Thanks for the idea on case protection... I had thought about frame sliders and axle sliders, but not motor protection.

Although the Brutale doesn't "overheat" it can run hot especially in stop and go traffic. Living in FL I have found my bike will run 190-195 f, On the go,and will average 210+ in heavy traffic. I took bike to bike week once and the gauge did start flashing. And on occasion after a long run it will puke a bit of coolant from the overflow tank. Overall I'd like to drop it about 10 degrees, and make the temperature more consistent especially at low speeds and idle
