No I don't have the OEM air filter. I plan to swap the air box of the bike. So I'll extract the air filter. Do you thing that using air pressure at fairly good distance would be ok to eject the excess of oil ?Yep, it will run rich if you over oil it - spot on the old wing nut.
It certainly won't help if that's what you have done..

My main map was developed on my own bike that has aftermarket carbon ducts - no different to the originals in size though.
The duct entrance is bigger ?, I would just leave them in..Ok,

The guy who has got a dyno also has a 150km/h fan.Not sure how you measure that on a dyno unless they have a 0 - 180mph fan hooked up to the speedo !
Get as much data as you can from the dyno runs - at different throttle positions - if its slightly out we can adjust the eprom, if its way out - something is wrong/different with the bike.
That's a way bigger scale. You're talking about 300-500k$ cars. The owners don't really cares about the fuel consumption because they have "unlimited money" (no offense if there are rich guys there). Me I plan to go on roadtrip with the bike, away from home, I'll not ride as fast as I do around home. So I don't want to stress after each 180km from the full refueling because the fuel light as turned on.It's iike to buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini and after ask how much fuel take it? You have MV (Ferrari in bike planet) and also 180-200 cv for a bike is like 500-600 cv on car. Don't tell me that only unlimited rich people can buy a Ferrari or another car with 5-600cv or bike with 200cv. All bike with 200cv will have around the same consumption. If I managed to do 300km with the 998, I should do 280km easily (gentle rythm).
Probably it's the weather temp that increase the fuel consumption because I don't have much feedbacks with this bike during spring/summer condition.
Probably it was also the trimpot position because the smell was strong before I adjust it with Adam...
Probably something else. But I need to find out was.

I only get that kind of mileage if I can cruise @ 6K (approx 90mph), at legal speeds mileage is 27-28mpg.My 2007 F4R 1000 averaged 35-37 mpg on the 1500 mile trip home from Las Vegas to Bellingham, WA. Still averages about that when I ride here in the mountains. Pretty easy riding though. I have a pair of 1.5 liter camping fuel metal containers that have served me well when taking long rides. The caps seal very well and I've never had a leak. That extra 3 liters of gas is comforting when you're in unknown territory.
