Hello;
First I apologize for any errors of agreement, because I'm using the google translator to write.:loser:

I searched the forum and found no similar problem with mine.
I have a MV F4 1000 R 2012 out of warranty,
The panel of my bike half right with the LCD is almost out, you can still see, but if you put in "night mode" shows nothing more.
I talked to a dealership and told me that it does not have concert and should be made to return.:bawling:
Does anyone have any solution for my problem? Or just changing?

Looks like you need a new one. I don't think you can fix that.

Is it melted on the top right corner? You didn't park it funny in the sun?
It is not melted, is dust! To remove, simply open the panel and move cotton, that have yet to do.:f4:

I 2nd that; you need to pull the display from the system / disassembly it / clean - remove the dust above and below the display and reassembly it.
Plug it back in and that should resolve your issue. -Davis

Not dust. Deliniation too sharp. It might be that unplugging the unit and plugging it back in would help, but I suspect it's a cold solder joint internal to the display.

Just to tag on to this thread, i have been having issues with my dashboard display flickering due to revs/vibration and was wondering if anyone has encountered it before. Bike is a late 2010 F4.

The blue backlight is steady all the time and the lcd "blocks" (rpm/icons/speed/temp/everything) are fine at idle, but once the revs/vibrations go up the "blocks" starts to flicker like static. I can make it flicker if i rev it hard enough in neutral, but it is most noticable once moving. Sometimes randomly it's fine for awhile before it starts flickering again.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Try to make it when I can buy a new display if I do something wrong I will have to replace one!
As the dirt that is on the right side, that does not worry me, what I want is to fix the panel that is weak from the middle to the right.

In my problem, the panel started flashing until the way it is now, regardless of rotation, it stays that way! I believe your problem would only barely touch!

Ah well i'm going to be bringing it in to get all the wiring and connections checked, but in a worst-case scenario does anyone know if replacing the dashboard is going to be a complicated issue (immobilizers etc) or if it's just plug and play?

I've opened it to look, seems to be just a plug and play!
According to the dealership, replacing the panel would solve.
When I can buy a new one, that here in my country is not cheap, I'll open it to see what I can find!:stickpoke

rthome... Seriously, suspect it's a cold solder joint fracture due to vibration. Do you know any electronics techs that can do a touch-up solder job?

I know very well who messes with solder for electronics ... But my fear is to have everything move and disappear, nothing appears more!

I have updates on my dash flickering issue and decided to let you guys know the developments.

The flickering problem got worse and i decided to look seriously for possible solutions:

Option 1: Get a replacement. My local importer is worse than useless but Gabrielle at Evolutionbike had a new replacement at 550 Euros.

Option 2: Inspired by Dana Kincaid's suggestion, i figure i'd let someone have a look at my current dash to try and find the problem (and hopefully solve it). Turns out the dad of a close friend dabbles in electronics/circuit boards etc and he was more than happy to take a look at it.

Yesterday he popped the dash open and found the issue in a short time. In his words it was an "intermittent contact at the LCD edge connector".

His classic solution? He glued a toothpick under the ribbon connector. It seems to have solved the issue as he tested with shaking and vibration and the display stayed stable.

Gotta love old experts and MacGyver-ed solutions. As long as it works i'm not complaining.

People have forgotten, over the years, that most manufactures things can be repaired with a little ingenuity.

It would be useful if you could post a pic of the place where the repair had to be done for people that may have the same problem later on.

See the toothpick under the wires on the right? Then in the second pic the toothpick is in the same place but has been trimmed to size.
