another personal first today. took a passenger on the back of the f4.
been procrastinating about this one for a while but finally made the jump and had a bit of fun

something different. wasn't as bad as i'd thought it would be, from what i'd been told i thought i'd be having to wrestle with the bike to deal with the passengers normal reaction to lean out of the corners. once she got with the flow it was really just like riding with a screaming backpack.
the bike felt a bit sluggish with the extra person but not badly. did also feel like the front wheel went up :f4: a bit unexpected but not deliberate...

Good for you mate.
With a good pillion you will hardly know they are there. My missus pillions with me all the time and she is great. Stuffed if I know how she does it but. I could never sit up there. It constantly reminds me of how much trust she has in me.

The best piece of advice you can give a new pillion is to 'Just follow your head'

I had my wife learn to read the road and simply place her chin on my soulder which was leading into the turn. She got proficient enought that we ould almost knee drag...it was excellent. Now, she has her own bike.

If you get a good passenger on the back with lots of practice you can't even feel them back there. For newbie passengers I just tell them to look over the shoulder in the direction of the turn. Its easy enough for them to follow those instructions and it makes them lean with me without even realizing it ;)
