Oil Leak F4750 not the sump !! SOLVED !!

Bit of a persistant oil leak here. I have my theories but interested in what the community thinks:

Intercooler (Left) is a little greasy but most oil collects on these two bolts when on the stand.

Note: area under oil filter (Right) is clean

This is the top of that external oil pipe. Esentially dry.

No rocker cover leaks at the moment.

Could it just be the lower pipe o-rings?

Try cleaning up the suspected area, then blow some foot powder on it . I use a plastic bottle with a small hole in it that can be squeezed, or an empty chalk line container.

Sounds too hard. Will be easier to pull the radiator and do the o-rings and hope for the best.
Cheers guys.

?

Either the lower oil pipe O-ring or the heat exchanger bolt is loose

you don't have to remove the lower radiator.... unplug the mount and move it forward

:wink2:

Finally got around to it.
Extracted the union pipe and the o-rings were rock hard, which is a good result.

Trying to spec replacement o-rings was a bit time consuming since the groove is not at all standard for any kind groove design - very wide dimension.
Anyway in the end I determined a 1.78mm section o-ring would be best.

Fitted two AS356 #012 o-rings in Viton. A good fit and sure to last. Glad to get that one solved!
