Ok so the first practices started today for this years NW 200. The first of the races are on Thursday with the main days races on Saturday.
As usual I'll be there! for both!!.
Here are the results of todays practices with local road racing sensation Michael Dunlop dominating!
As I said at the 'Tandragee 100' a couple of weeks ago..he is a sight to behold! and in my opinion THE most exciting road racer I've witnessed ..in years!

Too right!!..all being well I'll be there tomorrow and get a look at Gary's bike in the paddock.
Hope he goes well out on track.
What about Josh Brookes racing at the NW200!!? Great stuff.

Pity Alastair Seeley had bad luck in the first practice as he is awesome round here!.
I tip Michael Dunlop though to do the business (him or Seeley). http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/northern-ireland/22534584
We just need the weather!! Cause I've got the tickets for me and the missus:)

What happened to Martin? Did he have some sort of mechanical to not complete the practice?
Don't know..I can't really see him figuring though. For sure if he's in the race to completion he'll be top five..., but there are so many other guys out there that he won't 'have the beating of' (in My Opinion). http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/northern-ireland/22538108

But we'll see soon enough (tomorrow and Saturday). Then in a couple more weeks the TT and I predict the same.
Brian:)
Here's an onboard shot with Alastair Seeley who will be at or near the front...make no mistake about it!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/northern-ireland/22538110 Enjoy!

Cool Brian, Have fun. I have been watching the old races on youtube, in the middle of the 2011 NW200 now, great stuff, those guys going balls out on that course locks me to the screen man!

Here is an onboard practice lap with Guy Martin... for those unfamiliar with the weight you need between the legs

Awesome Racing so far!!

So I was up at the NW200 yesterday for the first day of racing..WOW! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/northern-ireland/22561644
As I predicted Alastair Seeley and Michael Dunlop were the men!
Unfortunately as I also predicted Guy Martin wouldn't get close...sorry if you're a big fan.
He finished 3'rd ( but 25 seconds back) in the first (supersport) race but Seeley was Awesome!
He (Seeley) had a bad tuesday practice and started halfway down the second wave with Dunlop..,Mc'guinness ..,Anstey..,Martin.., et al at the front of the first wave.
Michael Dunlop pulled away from the front and had a seemingly unassailable lead with nobody to sit with him.....however Seeley was astounding having to carve his way through from mid pack of the second wave and going into the last lap was up to 2'nd with Michael Dunlop still having over a 5 second lead .......Dunlop was really on it as he always is BUT Seeley in the last lap clawed back the 5 second lead of Dunlop and won by 1.3 seconds. That is unheard of!!. To take over 6 seconds out of a hard charging Michael Dunlop...Awesome!!
The rest of the field following with Guy Martin 3'rd.

The next race 650 super twins was another great one with veteran GP racer Jeremy Mc Williams taking the honours.

The third race of the evening was the Superstock 1000 with Alastair Seeley on pole alongside Michael Dunlop and John Mc Guinness........cracking race again with Seeley taking his 2'nd win of the meeting Anstey 2'nd.., Gary Johnson 3'rd.

Looking to more ...much more Tomorrow!!.
Here's some photos...I'll post more after the races tomorrow.
Cheers Brian:)

Oh I also took some photos of the 'Valmoto' MV agusta 675 that Gary Johnson was riding and will post in another thread http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showthread.php?p=607983#post607983 for your interest.

And the Third photo is John McGuinness and Steve Plater giving a couple of spectators a lap of the course on a couple of road bikes before the start of the first race. (might need a stiff drink afterwards?)

Thanks for all of the photos and updates. I hope that they're all safe out there today.

can't imagine what a lap would be like on the back of McGuinness', or Plater's, bike would be like. Something you'd never forget for sure.

Have fun Brian.

Well what a washout!!....and I mean 'washout'!.
There was torrential unceasing rain and the meeting was abandoned!.
We knew it was gonna be wet but it never stopped. They did try though and ran the first race
which was the 2'nd of the supersport races (the first one being on Thursday night).
I was particularly looking forward to this one as once again Gary Johnson was gonna be out on the
'Valmoto' F3 675 MV.
Well despite the atrocious weather the race started but after two and a half laps was red flagged as
4 riders had came off in two separate areas. (riders OK though thankfully).
The organisers hoped for a break in the weather for a restart....and after delay + delay + delay the meeting was abandoned and the 'race'? was called.. Michael Dunlop 1'st.., Bruce Anstey 2'nd' .. (general) Lee Johnston 3'rd.
The frustrating thing was that Yesterday's weather was Glorious (perfect race conditions)....and Tomorrows is to be the same. But today., 'THE' day of the races .. (with the superbikes et-al) was awful!!! how frustrating is that??.:violin:
Anyway I still managed a few more photos .. and one (well two but???) of the Valmoto MV and I'll put them in that thread.

OH and I also got into a blazing argument with a very 'officious' security guard ..his boss and a marshall... because they would NOT let me through the barrier and walk the 50 yards to take my seat in the grandstand ...even though I showed them my tickets...and the 'race' was not starting for over another 30 minutes....give em a uniform and a 'little' power ..eh?!

I need a hot shower (or should that be a cold shower:laughing:) as I'm soaked through.
Brian:).

Great pit shots. That's pants about the race. the govt. there really needs to figure out a way to allow more flexible road closures. Twice in three years is not helping this race stay alive.

Yep!.. totally agree. The race director (Mervyn Whyte) says the very same thing http://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/motorcycling/north-west-200/nw200-emotional-mervyn-whyte-hits-out-after-event-cancelled-due-to-torrential-rain-1-5107614.
Brian:)

A bit more about it here http://www.bikesportnews.com/news-detail.cfm?newstitle=2013-NW200:-Organisers-forced-to-cancel-races&newsid=9331
I heard Michael Dunlop saying to one of the commentators he had the bike ''completely sideways at station corner''
(having said that...that is quite normal for Michael:laughing:)

And William Dunlop was asked why he was wearing a black visor as it would be hard to see in these conditions...his reply....,''I don't wanna see ..,things are that bad! hehee''
