Interesting mine does not seem to like 3k at all reall if its not 4k plus it just does not seem happyI have been quite impressed with how smoothly the F3 triple engine runs at as low as 3000 or 4000 rpm. My Aprilia RSV 1000 (V twin) would shake and shudder a bit down that low when the throttle was opened. The F3 800 is a very flexible engine, happy to toodle along at 4k, or run up to 13k. For best acceleration anything over 8k is good, over 10k even better.

ok that would make senseI may be mistaken, but 3000rpm would place you in the area where the motor has been electronically set to be lean for pollution control.
