hi all, first post for me so a couple of questions for you.
is the 1078rr a huge leap ahead of the 910r ?
one dealer i spoke to said it is which considering he had a new 910r in the showroom suprised me a little, he also had a used 910r starfighter with 400 miles on it, apart from graphics and 99 of them what else did they have?
last but not least i spoke to another dealer who said he had stoped ordering bikes because the back up is terrible and cant even get service items which has made me think again to be honest.
ok 3 questions thanks.

I'll take a shot....

1. Is it a huge leap? No one in North America knows yet, as we don't have any 1078's. A couple of guys in Europe have them, and they indicate a HUGE difference. I'm believing them. Loads of torque from the big engine. That being said, the 910R is way more than most mortals need anyway. Consider price in your equation. 910's are reasonably priced, whereas I would expect 1078's to be pricey....

2. Starfighter is a graphics package that's really pretty cool. Limited in number, and likely somewhat collectable.

3. Parts availability is somewhat dependent upon your dealership's commitment. They are available, but you may have to search for them. None of us on the forum are really whigged out over parts availability at this time.

4. It's spelled 'newbie', not 'newbee'! :stickpoke just kiddin. You got to be willing to take some grief here, but otherwise welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy yourself and find out what you need. Tons of good info from dozens of knowledgeable members (present company excepted)

Welcome aboard pgm, first of all the 910r is probably more than enough bike for most folks but you don't say what riding experience you have, so the 1078 may be just right for you. I got my 910s before the r came out and have been very happy with it, not sure I can tell a huge difference between the two. There are some guys here with 1078's and by all accounts the bikes are nuts, massive power and wheelie monsters so if that's your thing then get one. I'm not sure the Starfighter would be a good investment, although there were only 99 made, which does make them quite exclusive. I believe such things are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Having said that, it is a beautiful bike. Service items shouldn't be a problem, spares on the other hand have been. Hopefully HD will start to make difference on that front shortly.I have never regretted buying my bike and doubt I will, I get a real buzz every time I take it out. The bottom line is which ever Brutale you go for will put a huge grin on your face. :brutale:

Hey Randy. That hat makes you look like Owen Oyston.
Believe it or not, I've got the hat in black, brown, and navy. Had all three for 30 years now.

Geeeze Blackie! I googled Owen Oyston 'cause I didn't know him. Convicted rapist zillionaire? :jsm:

Couldn't find a picture.
