  • hi everyone, I'm happy to join your forum. to start off I'm new to mv agusta bikes and forums. I first came across the bikes in December and fell in love with these pieces of art. I'm going to buy the 2014 brutale 800 within the next month or two. what really turned me on to the brutale was the new dragster 800. I hope I dont sound like a complete idiot with my questions but I was wondering if there was any way to change the seat arrangement to match the dragster? also I saw a picture of a passenger seat cowl for the regular brutale 800, I wanted to know if anyone knew where to buy one and if you guys know of any good sites for parts and accessories. If you could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Sure it's possible you could order all the parts from MV but the question is why would you? Just buy a Dragster.

I've not seen any seat cowls, can you post up a picture of it?

Welcome along by the way :)
Thank you for replying to my post. Honestly the reason I want to do that to the 800 instead of buying the dragster for one is the price difference 12k as opposed to 15k(I'm buying a new truck this summer as well and trying to keep my spending down somewhat). Also I'm around the Chicago area and the dealer I'm going to won't be getting the dragster in till next yr they said. I did find one, it was in southern indiana but it wasn't the color scheme I was looking for. I just really like how they did the tail on the dragster, doesn't sit back as far and it appears to be a smaller seat. seems to open up the rear end a little more.

I just realized the picture I saw was for the 1090 but it's what I'm hoping to find. give me a sec to send it, might take a min. it didn't go through on my last try.

That's not too shabby looking, Moto Corse certainly do some nice stuff, if only I could afford it all.

There's been some money spent on that bike, that's for sure!

That's fair enough I think you'll struggle though, cheapest option would be to cover the standard seat with the back part matching the colour of the tail, MV do them as an accessory or you could just get an upholsterer to do it for you like I did.

Damn they did a hell of a job on that 800! that seat cowl would be perfect, exactly what I was looking for.
ackers- thanks for your help. your right, that's probably the best route to go. I'd be happy with that.
Good luck on the purchase. Great bike to own and ride.
That cowl you posted on the white bike is beautiful!

Thank you wt800!! man I can't wait, I'm so excited!! I've rode dirt bikes since I was 6 then rode my buddies r6's/r1's but those don't even come close to these bikes. I'm hoping I can find a place to order that cowl, your right its beautiful on that bike! also i wanted to ask, any of you who have bought the new 800 or know by chance. How much can you haggle the dealers down on the sticker price?

Well, no. It seems there is a very small margin for the dealers. I got a 25% discount on clothing but that's it. I rather have a very good service and a happy dealer than a couple of bucks discount anyway.

Not anything like my previous bike. Got 1600,- euro's discount and 25% on clothing then, but that bike was 16.490.
No discount here either, when I got mine last year they were in such short supply, just being able to get one was the bonus, supply is better now but my local dealer doesn't hold huge stock, he'll only have one or two in of each model and I'd rather buy local if I can.
My dealer pitched in $1000 worth of service work. Equivalent to roughly ten hour of service which helped with my rear plate setup and the protection sliders and the first service.

You probably won't budge on the price but work on other things around the dealership.
MV doesn't offer road side assistance in USA like many other manufacturers do so keep that in mind.

Was given ~USD700 of voucher for merchandise but not usable for service. Got myself a radiator cover, jacket and a pair of glove.
Being a proud owner of such beautiful machine it's good enough for most of us around here :)

Yeah I got ya. I had a feeling with such short supply, wasn't possible to talk them down on price. It's still not to pricey for such an amazing bike! Thank you everyone for your help!
