Cheers- Just ordered a new triple clamp (or- Obere Gabelbrücke F4 - durchbrochen) from Performanceparts.de My sotck one was fine, it just was starting to oxodize a bit.. this new one looks like a nice part, I'll post some pics.. Could somebody give me the executive summary on replacing the triple clamp? I have ordered the special tool for the round nut.. (figured it looked cool..) may not even need it..

for my 2005 model, removal of the stem nut is not required, it is actually under the top triple.

leave bottom clamp tight
remove steering damper and loosen pinch bolt
clean around top of fork tubes and clamp so trapped dirt does not scratch tube
loosen clamp pinch bolts and remove clamp
wiglle or move gently keeping both sides even so they dont bind or scratch the fork tubes.
Clipons etc are beneath the clamp and do not need to be bothered.
put new clamp on in opposite order
torque pinch bolts to spec

How was this part quality/install? I'm looking at getting the same piece. What color did you order?
I'm also curious if it uses the stock clipon pins, or if it uses its own, or if it foregoes them altogether.
Snap any pics of the installed parts?
