Hello Everyone,

I recently picked up a used 05 750 brutale. Price was right so I could not pass it up (just over 3k) Bike has 11,000 miles on her and seems to be in pretty good shape. Since her history is a little unknown, I am planing on doing a service on her. This is what I have planned, please let me know your thoughts and if there is anything I am missing or special tools I will need.

Tires, replace

Chain, Sprokets, Replace (should I cange ratios?)

Spark plugs, replace

Fuel lines, replace

oil, replace

coolant, replace

valves probably adjust (how big of a job are we talking what size shims are needed?)

brake, clutch fluid, flush and replace (can I use dot 5 fully synthetic?)

throttle body balance, and adjust cpu

Congrats.
DOT 5 is silicone based fluid. If you are looking for a higher boiling point fluid than the stock DOT 4, use DOT 5.1 which is polyethylene glycol based (like DOT 3, 4). You shouldn't mix polyethylene glycol and silicone fluids, and even if you flush completely I wouldn't recommend switching to silicone based fluid as it can be incompatible with the seals in a system that previously had polyethylene glycol fluid in it. Silicone brake fluid also makes the brakes feel spongy.

advise

you might want to change out the plastic fuel elbows on the tank and on the fuel ines before they break and leak fuel all over the place. and check your air filter. I have 2006 brutale 910 and have had over heating problems while sitting in traffic. i replaced the waterpump impeller, and soon will put in some water wetter or engine ice,and replace my plastic cooling fan with muzzy fan. this will drop temp around 8 to 10 degrees. good luck and enjoy your new bike.:yo:

These are the workshop manuals, Chasis and Enginer for the Earlier Bruatale 910S.

Almost identical to the 750. You can use these for everything except for parts, but adjusting the valve clearances etc is all in there. The engines 750 - 910 - 989 - 1078 are all quite similar, and the electricals between the early 910 and the 750 are the same, they run the same engine management.

I think the valve clearances are adjustable, you don't have to replace the shims, but I'm no expert. The Manual will reveal all.

I've Never ever have stopped in traffic. thats when I Really GO! Not way faster than cars, Just NEVER STOP. My Bike got a little hot in summer and We found that it was the Sensor for the fan, a 12 Dollar fix.

Stick with Dot 4
Service rear hub
Don't overtighten chain
Replace Plastic fuel connects
Bet valve clearances are just fine @ 11k mls

That price is beyond cheap...

Though people here say prices should be in the range of $5-6k for an '05

The rare few that I've seen recently advertised locally in NYC are:

'05 750S 3900 miles asking $7400

'07 910R 1706 miles asking $12500
