MV has issued the following service bulletins providing updated maps for the ECU on Rivale & Stradale models - the first update since 2015:

Bulletin 184 issued 28th March 2017 for Rivale model year 2015 on.
Bulletin 185 issued 28th March 2017 for Rivale model year 2014.
Bulletin 175 issued 14th February 2017 for Stradale.

In each bulletin the update is intended to introduce improvements on the throttle control and engine cranking strategies. In addition the Stradale update is to solve an issue with heated grips.

I had the update done on my Rivale at Moto Corsa last week when it was in for service and the thottle action does seem to be better.

I've never had #185 done on my '14 Rivale. The biggest factor IMO in cranking strategy is getting a stronger battery. I've not experienced any throttle control issues other than the early-on issue with the engine dying when you closed throttle and pulled clutch in, but that was remedied by balancing throttle bodies.

No it doesn’t mellow the power at all. Similar updates have been issued for all three cylinder models.
