Well....I got a call from the people at Corbin today........

I was told that the earliest they could take the bike is the end of November. The lady I talked to informed me that they would keep the bike for 4 weeks in order to develop the new seats and 8 weeks to develop seats and any fiberglass panels.

They are open on saturdays, so I will be making a trip down to Hollister to check out the facility, meet with the head of R&D and read their paperwork about leaving my bike.

I am planning on going with SuperLuke on saturday around 9 a.m.
If anyone in the area would like to join us
you are more than welcome to come (Twobit, Senna161, ? )

I will post up any info and/or pictures as it comes up
If they ask for ANY input on the designs I will post up and ask all of you to see what we all want
eventhough we probably can't make everyone happy :banghead:

........Update...........

I went to Corbin and checked out the facility
I will get a call within the next couple of weeks to see
when I can drop off the bike

They will develop new rider and pillion seats for the Brutale
and will decide when they have the bike if they will also
develop any kind of storage compartments

I was talking to the head of R&D and he said one possibility would be
to incorporate the pillion seat locking mechanism to any new compartment
and was even saying they will try and see if they can make a back rest for the passenger

Everyone we talked to were super nice and responsive to questions
and loved their show room as well

we even got a free lunch from the diner next door......food was okay

I went with SuperLuke from the forum and since he has a KTM Super Duke
they took pics of his bike and are going to find out if they want to do anything with his bike

Here are some pics from yesterday...........

We have now got GEL seats for the Brutale and F4, with 60 different colors and styles, they look perfect compared to others and they feel so good when riding, we will have photos and updates on these very soon.

Is this for a complete replacement seat or the service to put on in?

I Gel-ed an extra set I bought from a fellow forum member last week. I found a shop to do it for $180 (including return shipping) which included reshaping the seat to my specifications and to re-cover it in black (seat was red). It came out pretty good, though still not a couch by any means it's a lot better than stock. The only down side was that it's much heavier than the stock seat. The gel does help reduce vibration which makes your butt numb but doesn't really make the seat any softer. The thing that help the most is that I had them round off the edges of the seat as I found it to dig into the back of my thighs. I'll post some pics later, my bike is in the shop for an oil leak and won't get it back till Wed.

Here's the shop I used:

Its for the complete seats (both riders and pillion).

We will post photos the coming week, these are the only seats that actually look good and work (after 6 years of searching).

Well, it's nice to see they're atleast inclined to making it. The Sargent factory visit I made, was awesome, but they weren't willing to budge at all on making one....which kinda sucks, because I severely doubt they sell 500 seats of ANY model bike seat.....

I will contact the people at LePera seats to see if they have any interest. They are mostly into Harleys and such, but you never know.

This guy looks very interesting. He prefers to have the owner bring the bike in so he can check the fit during various phases of rework.

Rich's Seats

Looks like he's willing to work on about anything as he's done some Guzzis, etc.

Anybody in Seattle?

..........Update...........

I called Corbin yesterday, friday the 12th. They told me that they are currently busy preparing for a couple of shows in Ohio and won't be able to take the bike until the middle of February.

Hopefully they will take the bike at that time. I know some of you out there want multiple options for a better seat on the Brutale.

Have you spoken with Sargent's?

No I haven't. The only reason I am talking to Corbin is because they are 40 miles away from me.

I guess anybody in the Jacksonville, FL area can try to talk to Sargent. If I remember correctly, though, I think someone already tried and they said they weren't interested.......... :jerkoff:

Rich's has been discussed in a couple of seat threads.....basically it's a custom shop that will build/modify the seat for you, so you really need to be there for them to design it. It's not really a mass-production shop so it won't work for anyone that isn't in the area. I haven't had a seat done by them yet but I've heard mostly good reviews from other riders here in WA that have had one done, but one user on here that had one done was not satisfied with the work.
