Anybody catch this bit in the new 920 write ups?:

The BRUTALE has a number of dedicated engine components including
a cooling system with the radiator catch tank which is now at the same pressure as the atmosphere helping to keep the engine temperature under control even in the most extreme track or city driving conditions.

Is this also on the 2010 F4s or Brutales????

This is a major change over the older system where the radiator cap is on the expansion tank.

wouldn't that just be another way of stating that there is a coolant overflow tank? afterall that is at atmospheric pressure?
No...they've relocated the pressure cap to the radiator, like on most modern systems, with a reservoir that the system can expand into and draw from without losses.

...right now the coolant reservoir (which you are calling an overflow tank...also known as expansion tank) is under pressure and uses that tiny pressure cap.

With the new system the engine can get hot enough to push coolant past the cap, but will recover it when the engine cools. The current system uses a cap that would not allow recovery even if you put a catch can on the overflow hose.

oh ok, now they do this with the cheapest brutale go figure.

question is is there any way to retro fit or modify the current system to do the same thing? are there radiator repair shops that can add on this extra cap and route the system to do the same thing as the new system?

It doesn't.

But this does show the softie-commuter-intent for this bike, vs track oriented.
