Hello,

yesterday my new project for a total restauration arrived at my home. A 125 Sport, 1978, with double break disc and fairing.

With luck I got this "barn found" :naughty:.

During this winter I restored my spare motor which will be installed in this bike.

Some pictured you'll find in my photo album:

So, now I'll spit on my hands and get down on work.....

@ Dorian & Russ, please don't be angry if I contact you with the one or the other questions during the restauration .

cheers

Helmut

hi Helmut

congrats on the bike and I'm happy to help wherever I can. I might even drop by and have a look at how it is progressing (contemplating a European sojourn for September/October this year),

cheers

THX Russ,

that would be nice if we could meet for MV trade talks and a couple of beers this year.

Let me know!

cheers

Helmut

Well done Helmut!!! You are saving a MV for future generations to enjoy!!!

It does look like you have much work to do but on the positive side, it seems that it is all there and that's the best start possible to a project.

I was going to say if you need any help just yell, but with Dorian & Russ on the team, I am happy to warm the subs bench - you can't get better guys than those two! :)

Good luck, keep us informed of progress.

About a month ago there was one for sale on e-bay in Oz for $6,000 AUD. I was tempted to buy it but for the fact I already have one.

I love the way these little 125s are styled to look like the 750 'America'. Very strong family resemblence.

Nice Puch SVS you have there too. My first ever two-wheeler was a bright yellow Puch VS50 with twist-grip gearchange and chromed tank panels. I de-coked it just about every weekend hoping to get another .25hp from the engine. Happy days.

Hi Helmut,

You seem to be making excellent progress :) Great idea to take pics as you go.

Can't you get someone to copy the harness off yours? After all they are only wires & connectors. Maybe this way too expensive to be realistic.

I have been waiting for Giovanni Magni to do a tank for me for 1 year, even talking to him in person last year did not help much........ I know your frustration.

I now have a perfect replica race tank made in fibreglass - when it gets to Australia I will use it & have it copied in aluminium!

Some times with these projects we just have take charge of our destiny because you can't rely on others.

I am sure you will find a solution & If I find anything I will certainly let you know :)

Good luck my friend.

THX Rob,

I'll see and find a solution for this challenge. I'm also waiting to get something from Giovanni M...no answer of my mails. The only and safty way is to give him a call.

The tank made of ALU will look great - if you have it pls. post some pics.

See you,

Helmut

I presume you have someone in mind to do the fabrication Rob ?? A friend of mine specialises in one-offs, he made me two pairs of levers for my 1948 125 for $50 and built a carby from scratch for a Silver Ghost in Oz. :f4:
