So I finally got my F4 1k registered in Okinawa, Japan. What a pain in the ass these guys make it for import bikes, in especially here, this is only the 2nd one here, my buddy is the first. Anyway Im street legal now, fresh tags put on yesterday, took it straight to the shop for minor parts to be put on.

Last night I took her up to the end of the island for some real breaking in, trying to stay in that 6-7k rpm range, hard but I managed, sometimes hitting 8k. Have any of you guys did a hard break in, Im not trying to trash the thing just wondering what you guys recommend.

It was great, the MV rides and handles like no other. Compared to my r1 I have to give to the MV being the better bike. I love the handling of it and the down low grunt is actually there. My R1 even after re-gearing it still felt as if it was lacking down low. Me being a tall rider, Im 6'4 I do think the Sato Rearsets should make things a little better there as well. They are on the way from Pirates, along with some other parts from Emoto.

Theres a month waiting time for the motocorse exhaust but I called in and ordered the new slanted cut design slip ons, do you guys recommend the aftermarket mid pipe as well?

For break-in, I'm pretty much following the manual but will give it some gas (no WOT) and take it to around 7K to 8K rpm occassionally. I think the big think is to let the engine warm up. No 7k rpm clutch drops and running up to redline. And, vary rpms frequently.

I know their some people will break it in like they stole it and some dealer have even said I could. But then again, I'm the one who's going to be paying the bill if something goes wrong.

I was told by a car dealer that going over the exact rpm break in limit won't void the warranty. What they look for when deciding improper breaking is signs of abuse (drag racing type clutch drops and prolong time at redline).

I just keep to the guide lines on the revs, maybe a few more but NEVER WOT or load it up hill, better to do 2000rpm more than the running in guide than 4000 up a steep hill :naughty:
